Horizontal engineered bamboo offers a sleek and durable flooring that shows off the knots and natural variations of the bamboo grain pattern. Bamboo of the moso species is harvested when the plant reaches maturity; this ensures the hardness, stability and clarity of color of the finished product. Strips of bamboo are then applied horizontally to a sustainably-harvested hevea core and Forest Stewardship Council-certified eucalyptus or pine backing. The flooring comes pre-finished with a water based solvent free coating that Exceeds European standards for formaldehyde off-gassing.
